Dynasty IDP Fred Warner is IDPE’s #2 dynasty Linebacker in 2021. San Francisco Middle Linebacker (MLB) drafted in the 3rd round (#70 overall) out of BYU in the 2018 draft. Named an All-Pro for the first time in 2020.

A disciplined, sideline-to-sideline, every down 4th year linebacker. His athleticism graded out as slightly above average and he has good size for his position. He has a strong College Prospect Score (CPS) and grades out as above average in every category of the model. He was an all around solid prospect.

Warner is still on his rookie contract, which expires after this season. He will be an unrestricted free agent in 2022. If he is not resigned by San Francisco, his dynasty value could take a slight hit depending on where he lands. I would be surprised if SF didn’t resign him, but there is a little risk here since they do not have a 5th year option.

Dynasty IDP Fred Warner is one of the best real life Middle Linebackers in the league, but his upside is somewhat limited in fantasy. Frankly, I was a little surprised that the model calculated Fred Warner as the #2 LB in dynasty, but he is young, consistent and dependable because he never misses games. Expect him to compete as a Top 10 LB in 2021.
