Kyle Pitts- 2021 #5 Dynasty TE

#8 Kyle Pitts, ATL

bio:

Kyle Pitts is IDPE’s #5 dynasty TE in 2021. Drafted by Atlanta in the 1st round (#4 overall) out of Florida in the 2021 draft. He was a Unanimous All-American and John Mackey Award winner in 2020.

attributes:

A uniquely talented rookie tight end; he plays more like a wide receiver than a tight end. He has good size, an elite wingspan, and elite athleticism. Pitts has an insane College Prospect Score (CPS). His CPS is the highest in my model for any player at any position since I started keeping track in 2010.

He missed 4 games due to an undisclosed injury and 1 game with a concussion in 2020.

receiving:

Pitts had 43 receptions, 770 yards, and 12 touchdowns in just 8 games in 2020. He was having a truly monstrous year.

strength of schedule:

Atlanta has the 5th easiest schedule for tight ends in 2021, per PFF. The bye week is Week 6, and the most difficult matchups are Weeks 1, 2, 9, and 13. Miami and Denver tight ends currently look like solid complimentary options based on their strength of schedule.

contract:

Pitts is playing on his rookie contract. Atlanta will have a 5th-year option available. He will be an unrestricted free agent in 2026 (Age 25).

summary:

Kyle Pitts is a generational talent and the best prospect I have ever seen. Being ranked #5 in dynasty before ever playing a snap is unheard of, though that also speaks to the overall lack of high-end talent at the tight end position.

Rookie tight ends rarely make much noise in their first year. Atlanta traded Julio Jones, and they have a soft schedule for tight ends, so I expect him to compete for a Top 10 TE finish in 2021 and compete for #1 overall TE in dynasty.
